HPC Faculty Oversight Committee
The HPC Faculty Oversight Committee is charged with advising the Assistant Vice Chancellor for OIT Shared Services on matters related to the HPC service.
The committee may also advise the Vice Chancellor for Information Technology and the Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation on matters related to the HPC service. The HPC service is one of Office of Research and Innovation's core shared research facilities.
Specific responsibilities of the Faculty Oversight Committee include
- The committee will approve and maintain the Acceptable Use Policy for the HPC services
- The committee must approve any security policy exemptions requested for the HPC services, and may also initiate requests for security policy exemptions
- The committee will recommend HPC services that it determines should be provided and assist with identifying gaps in existing services. The committee will advise AVC for OIT Shared Services on prioritization of implementation of new HPC services
- The committee will advise AVC for OIT Shared Services on operational aspects of HPC services, such as: queue structure and policies; application software supported by HPC staff; allocation of HPC staff resources; HPC documentation, engagement, and training; and scheduling of HPC maintenance activities.
