Now available anytime, as an asynchronous learning module.
Registration for the HPC Workshop is available through REPORTER. The class content will be delivered with Moodle.
The workshop starts with a review of basic Linux and continues through submitting parallel jobs. It is appropriate for rank beginners, but also relevant to long time users who would benefit from an update on current best practices.
Although this is a self-paced module with no deadlines, it was developed to be completed as a 3 day module. Best practice is to set aside three days to focus on the material. The total time commitment for the workshop is expected to be 3-5 hours depending on the user's beginning familiarity with Linux and the command line.
Users will receive a certificate upon successful completion of the course.
Registrants must have access to the Hazel HPC cluster in order to complete the course. Instructions for obtaining HPC access can be found on the Request Access page and in this video tutorial.
HPC users from across campus learn about research computing projects both within and outside of their domain as well as share their HPC tricks and techniques.
